Trigger Point Injections

Trigger points are adhesions in the soft tissue of the body. These adhesions create tension and pulling in our structure and have the effect to “pull” the body out of alignment. Trigger points also have decreased circulation to them, which is one of the reasons they can’t heal themselves. Lack of circulation creates toxins and increased nerve sensitivity that can range from an ache to extremely sharp pain.  You may experience:

• Headaches that seem to pull from the neck up to the head
• Severe unrelenting pain
• Limited range of motion of joints
• Pain in the back of the shoulder or between the shoulder blades
• Pain in the low back spreading into the buttocks
• A deep ache in the muscle

Trigger point injections have been used extensively for the relief of muscular & nerve pain resulting from trigger points.  Treatments can help with many types of muscle or nerve conditions, including:

• Pain between ribs
• Neck pain
• Pain down the arms

This treatment is administered several times over the course of 4-12 weeks.
